TDC vs Net4samso

One of my internet connections is for my restaurant in Samsø

Its a grassroots connection build with radio towers, a central fiber connection, providing a 20/20 Mbit connection to it’s users for some 16ish euro a month. It’s so cheap that I do not expect too much, and they have had issues doing summertime (seems to get better every year) when the amount of users is exploding.

If you happens to have a house on Samsø it’s www.net4samsø.dk

I highly recommend it.

While the monopoly, TDC, still provides me with a connection, a business connection including television, its only a copper connection maxing at a most 20/2 Mbit, and it’s still need to reserve a lot of the connection for iptv.

The TDC connection is roughly 130 euro a month.

If my TDC connection fails, its copper, so it will get cut from time to time. Repair time is “easy” 14 days.

14 days.

Can we afford today, that people that would like to live and work from Islands, can be without internet in 14 days? On a business connection?

In January, the connection was cut by some local fools, they even failed to report it correctly, just covering up their mistake. it took 6 days.

Below is my stats from my radio connection, provided by my ripe probe. IT does show two disconnections, I think i’m responsible for one of the 4-5 mins disconnections.

we need to provide better and cheaper internet, and higher speeds for the outer districts, even islands like Samsø. We have to organize it.

And no, we do not want to select two of them, better, cheaper, higher speeds, are all needed.
